Tottenham and Newcastle target Hakim Ziyech has been told to leave Chelsea by Morocco manager Walid Regragui.

What’s the story?

Well, the 47-year-old and Ziyech, who is wanted by Antonio Conte and Eddie Howe, have just enjoyed a special period together, as they helped Morocco make football history by becoming the first African side to reach a World Cup semi-final.

Now, Regragui has admitted that he thinks the Tottenham and Newcastle target can do better than what he is currently experiencing at Chelsea.

It was Algemeen Dagblad who revealed that Spurs want to sign the 29-year-old.

Elsewhere, respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Newcastle are preparing a bid for Ziyech, who has only made one Premier League start for Chelsea this season.

Speaking to Moroccan TV station Arryadia, Regragui admitted that the Chelsea No.22 needs to leave Stamford Bridge, saying: “Amallah and Ounahi will surely find better clubs and the same for Ziyech, who has shown what he can do, he deserves to be a starter in Chelsea.”

The Tottenham and Newcastle target – who Chelsea signed from Ajax for £33.3m back in 2020 – impressed at the World Cup in Qatar, scoring one goal while also providing one assist as Morocco reached the last four.

Regragui is right about Tottenham & Newcastle target

We can’t help but agree with Regragui.

Ziyech is far too talented to be sitting on the bench at Chelsea, and at the age of 29, he must force a move before it becomes too late – Graham Potter clearly doesn’t see him as a regular starter.

The African forward is under contract with the Blues until 2025, and if he stays until then, he will be 32 and potentially no longer as effective as he currently is.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, with Newcastle said to be preparing an offer.
