West Ham United have managed to turn their season around recently.
Hammers co-chairman David Gold named the West Ham player who he is a big fan of, when writing his regular column for the club’s official website, and it will come as no surprise to anyone which player he chose.
Slaven Bilic’s men have been on a fine run of form of late, winning six of their last nine league outings, and now sit in ninth position in the Premier League table.

And one of the major driving forces behind that run has been the form of Andy Carroll.
The 6ft 4in striker has been on a sensational run over the past few weeks, scoring four goals in his last four outings.
And Gold lavished praise on the 28-year-old, when writing his regular column for WHUFC.com, highlighting his importance to the team as a whole:

“It was another big day for Andy Carroll and he deserves all the headlines he is getting at the moment. I’ve always been a big fan and he is such an important player for the team. He is in great form and his work-rate is fantastic. He has a little niggle at the moment but we are managing it in the right way and he will be protected. You cannot under-estimate what Andy brings to the team and it is not just his goalscoring but the other areas of the team he helps out. He puts in everything for the team and shows incredible commitment.”

Unfortunately for West Ham, Carroll is suffering from a slight knock and is a doubt for today’s home game against West Bromwich Albion.

If he is managed and protected in the correct manner, however, there is no reason why he cannot continue his impressive run of form, and earn what would be a much deserved call-up to the England national side.
