Rafa Benitez’ side currently sit top of the Championship table, with a one point advantage over second placed Brighton & Hove Albion, and they have kept consecutive clean sheets in their last two games.

And Murphy, who has scored two goals for his club since making his switch to St James’ Park in the summer, pinpointed Newcastle’s back five as a major contributing factor to their 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, as quoted by the Chronicle.

“The lads at the back and Karl Darlow were absolutely brilliant. It’s great too, because I don’t think we ever looked like conceding in the game, we were that solid. That confidence then runs through the team. It will be a tough game – they all are – but we are looking forward to Norwich”

The race for the Championship title is most definitely going to be a closely contested affair, and with the top two sides meeting at the Amex Stadium two weeks tomorrow night, Murphy and co will be desperate to maintain their advantage at the top of the pile before they head to the south coast to take on the Seagulls.
