Dana White has shot down rumours that the UFC’s White House card is being moved from June 14 to June 26, even as talk of rising costs continues to swirl.

That price tag dwarfs what the promotion reportedly paid for UFC 306 at Sphere in Las Vegas, which came in at around $20 million.

Puck News also claimed that the event would be pushed back by nearly two weeks, but White responded on Instagram, bluntly reiterating that June 14 is still the date.

Puck News had reported that the UFC White House event was being moved to June 26, a Friday, instead of its original Sunday slot. That would have marked another break from the usual schedule for the promotion.

But Dana White addressed those rumours directly on social media, posting on Instagram: “Media is so full of s—, White House fight date is the same; Sunday June 14th.”

The timing isn’t without meaning. Donald Trump will be celebrating his birthday during the event, and even the International G7 Summit has reportedly shifted dates to accommodate him.

Reports also suggest that a press conference will be held at the Lincoln Memorial to kick off festivities, with ceremonial weigh-ins taking place at the same location.

Trump’s promise to build a stadium hits an obvious snag

One more detail in the Puck News story worth noting: President Trump’s plan to build a full stadium on the South Lawn isn’t happening. Instead, the audience will be limited to fewer than 3,000 ticket holders, with an additional 1,000 spots set aside for members of the military.

It’s also becoming clear that his talk of hosting eight world title fights won’t come true either. Bloody Elbow sources have shared that only two championship bouts are planned for the card at this stage.

Dana White has clarified that this event won’t be part of the usual pay-per-view lineup. Instead, it’ll stand alone as a special attraction on the calendar.
