Oliver Glasner has had a tremendous impact at Crystal Palace but his team selection may force one star to leave this summer.

The Austrian took charge at Selhurst Park in February and led Crystal Palace to a seventh-placed finish after an incredible run of form at the end of the season.

Heading into the summer, Oliver Glasner and Palace would have been focused on keeping hold of their star players, but Michael Olise has departed for Bayern Munich in a £51million deal and Eberechi Eze has been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City.

HITC understands that Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is now also looking to leave the club.

The 31-year-old is ready to leave this summer if Dean Henderson remains as the first-choice goalkeeper under Glasner.

Henderson was brought in by Palace from Manchester United on a five-year deal and he finished the season as number one under Oliver Glasner after Johnstone picked up an injury.

Multiple clubs interested in Sam Johnstone

Henderson’s excellent form at Palace saw him called up for England’s Euro 2024 squad this summer.

With Henderson now ahead of him in Glasner’s pecking order, Johnstone has made it clear to Palace that he does not want to spend the season on the bench in South London.

HITC understands that multiple Premier League clubs are keen on signing a new goalkeeper this summer and have shown an interest in Johnstone.

Southampton, Bournemouth, Leicester City, Wolves and Nottingham Forest are all keeping tabs on the situation.

Another goalkeeper of interest to those clubs is Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, who has been pushed out of Mikel Arteta’s plans by David Raya.

It is understood that Ramsdale will be made available this summer.

Ramsdale has been told by an ex-teammate to leave this summer in pursuit of regular first-team football.
