Chelsea have flown out to the United States but there is plenty of attention on the players who haven’t made the trip with Enzo Maresca.

The Blues are ready to take on the likes of Wrexham, Celtic, Club America, Manchester City and Real Madrid in a two-week spell in the USA.

This is the first chance for fans to see Enzo Maresca and co in action since his arrival from Leicester City.

Christopher Nkunku has already praised Maresca’s training sessions and excitement levels are high as Chelsea ramp up preparations for the new Premier League season.

A few eyebrows were raised when Chelsea announced their squad for the trip to USA with defender Trevoh Chalobah a surprise absentee.

HITC understands that Chalobah has now been told that he has no future at Chelsea as the Blues look to sell.

Cesare Casadei set for Chelsea exit

Chalobah is bound to have plenty of suitors and another name on the chopping block is midfielder Cesare Casadei.

Casadei also isn’t in the travelling Chelsea squad and HITC understands that he has been told that he can leave permanently.

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea in 2022 having shown potential in the Inter Milan ranks in his native Italy.

Casadei has struggled for game time though, playing just 11 Premier League games alongside loan spells at Reading and Leicester City.

Maresca saw Casadei up close and personal at Leicester and has now decided to let him leave Chelsea.

Former Italy striker Francesco Graziani has now delivered his verdict on Casadei and his future.

As quoted by Football Italia, Graziani suggests that Chelsea struck the deal for Casadei thinking they would end up with a bargain.

That has not happened and Graziani feels sorry for Casadei having left Italy to try his luck in England, to no avail.

Graziani now hopes to see Casadei make a return to Italy, believing that he is better off developing in Serie A than heading elsewhere.

“Chelsea signed him because of his potential, thinking that they’d make a bargain for that fee, but it was not the case,” said Graziani. “I am sorry for the lad because when you leave Italy at such a young age, you often don’t have the courage to face certain situations. I hope he returns to Serie A and that some Italian clubs will be interested in him. He will develop much more here than at other European clubs,” he added.

Fiorentina want Casadei

Casadei may not have to wait long for a move away.

Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Fiorentina are now pushing to sign Casadei.

Di Marzio claims that an agreement hasn’t been reached just yet but Fiorentina hope to lure the midfielder back to Italy soon.

It’s clear that Casadei needs to leave Chelsea, just months after Mauricio Pochettino was backing him for a first-team role.

Casadei’s two-year stint in England hasn’t reaped any rewards and the chance to develop into a first-team role at Fiorentina may be ideal for him.
