Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will give a chance to Billy Gilmour to impress in pre-season amid interest from Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, according to The Athletic.
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Chelsea boss Tuchel will give returning midfielder Gilmour, linked with a move to Scottish club Rangers in the summer transfer window, ‘opportunities’ to show what he can do in pre-season.
The 20-year-old Scotland international midfielder spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Norwich City from Chelsea.
The Canaries got relegated to the Championship.
Earlier this month, TEAMtalk reported that Rangers are ready to make a move for Gilmour and bring him to Ibrox on loan for next season.
Gilmour, described as “fantastic” by Manchester United legend Roy Keane on Sky Sports in March 2020, was on the books of Rangers from 2009 until 2017 before he moved to Chelsea.

Could Billy Gilmour join Rangers on loan from Chelsea?
In our view, there is a chance that Rangers could sign Billy Gilmour on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea have a good midfield department, and the Scotsman may struggle for playing time next season.
Let’s not forget that Conor Gallagher will also be returning to Chelsea from his loan spell at Crystal Palace.
Rangers will just have to be patient.
