Chelsea have now submitted a bid for Alexis Mac Allister – who Antonio Conte has asked Tottenham to sign for him.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italian will not be happy with Daniel Levy if he loses out on the Argentina international to Chelsea.
It was Calcio Mercato Web who claimed that Conte had requested the South American’s arrival in north London, having been left impressed with his performances at the World Cup.
Now, however, there has been a twist.
Tutto Mercato Web believe Chelsea have submitted a €55m (£49m) bid to sign Mac Allister as Todd Boehly continues to hand Graham Potter millions to spend in the transfer market.

In what can only be described as a slither of positive news for Tottenham, the Italian outlet believe Brighton have rejected the offer.
Interest in the Argentine comes after he scored seven goals in his first 18 appearances for Brighton this season, while also making six appearances in Qatar as Argentina won the World Cup.
Tottenham surely won’t compete with Chelsea
In our view, we cannot see Tottenham outbidding Chelsea in the race to sign Mac Allister.
Levy is not exactly known to be a free-spending owner like Boehly is.
Even more importantly, Gianluca Di Marzio believes Spurs will not be renewing Conte’s contract in north London, which expires at the end of the season.
Therefore, we feel it is highly unlikely that Levy grants the Italian his wish of signing Mac Allister if he really is heading for the exit door this summer.
Even if Levy does want to sign the Brighton No.10 for whoever replaces Conte, it seems nobody can match Chelsea financially in the market right now, as Arsenal found out when the Blues spent £88.5m to pinch Mykhaylo Mudryk from under their noses.
Having said that, anything can happen in the transfer market, so make sure to keep an eye on the situation.
