Mykhaylo Mudryk has been in the headlines after Chelsea remarkably spent £88.5m to pinch the Ukraine international from Arsenal.
The Gunners looked to have a deal for the 22-year-old wrapped up before the Blues hijacked talks with Shakhtar Donetsk, despite the winger’s constant posts about Arsenal on Instagram.
Mudryk regularly posted videos of himself watching the north Londoners, and even uploaded a photo showing an edited picture of himself wearing an Arsenal shirt.
Therefore, an interesting detail following his move to Stamford Bridge has many people talking.
What’s the story?
Well, Mudryk is yet to actually post anything about Chelsea on his social media pages.
It has been three days since Chelsea announced the £88.5m deal, with players – especially those active online such as Mudryk – usually posting about such significant news almost immediately.

Therefore, the silence coming from the Ukrainian wonderkid is deafening.
Many Arsenal fans have been discussing it online, comparing the situation to Mudryk’s regular posts about the Gunners during the transfer saga – he even described Mikel Arteta as a “great coach” during Arsenal’s win over Brighton.
In many ways, it really does feel as if Mudryk didn’t get the move he wanted.
Why did Mudryk join Chelsea over Arsenal?
By the sounds of things, Mudryk only joined Chelsea because the deal was structured more favourably for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Sergei Palkin – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shakhtar Donetsk – told The Athletic that Chelsea and Arsenal offered the same amount of money, although the Blues offered add-ons which were more “achievable and realistic”.
Chelsea also proposed a future friendly against Shakhtar in Donetsk.
Of course, nobody forced Mudryk to join Chelsea, so we have to assume he chose to move – however, based on the sudden changes in his social media activity, there is certainly a debate to be had.
