Adam Idah is the man Celtic want as the summer transfer window edges closer to slamming shut.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have made a 100% start to their title defence after looking pretty strong in pre-season.
Celtic beat Hibernian 2-0 on Sunday and are already flying even without key players yet to join the Glasgow giants.
Sources have told HITC that Celtic have made a breakthrough in signing Idah, but he might not be the only one they bring in.
Tam McManus spoke about Celtic needing to strengthen two areas of the pitch before the August deadline – the number nine spot and at left-back.
It has been previously suggested that Celtic need to bring in competition for Greg Taylor, with the Scotland star in need of some much-needed competition.
Alexandro Bernabei has struggled during his time at Parkhead and has rightfully been sent out on loan to the Brazilian club, Internacional.
That’s why McManus thinks Owen Beck would be a ‘good signing’ for the Bhoys as clubs scramble over the line to get some late deals concluded, as he told PLZ Soccer.
Beck was dubbed ‘outstanding’ for his loan spell at Dundee last season and could now make a return to Scotland.
Celtic backed to sign Owen Beck
“There are rumours about Owen Beck at Liverpool as well,” said McManus. “Maybe coming in and competing with Taylor for left-back.
“I think he would be a good signing as well. It just depends on how much Liverpool are looking for him. I know he played for them in pre-season the other day.
“I think that’s the two key areas Celtic need to strengthen, particularly left-back and upfront (with Adam Idah).”

Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic looking strong
Celtic beat Manchester City in pre-season and it’s a small glimpse of what they are going to produce this season.
It can’t be denied that the previous campaign, in terms of performances, was very up and down and the team just didn’t look right.

But the speed in which they are playing with and without the ball this term are early signs that the Rodgers side that utterly dominated in his first spell are back.
It’s pretty simple, Celtic concentrate on themselves, do their jobs and they will be bringing in more trophies for fun.
