Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Mohamed Elneny posting a clip of him training ahead of the new Premier League season.
Whilst Euro 2020 is in full flow across Europe, it won’t be too long before domestic players return to pre-season action.
It will be interesting what Arsenal do with Elneny because his contract does expire next summer and he isn’t a first-team regular.
Plus, the Athletic have reported that the Egyptian is in danger of leaving on a free because he hasn’t been offered a new contract yet.
And when Elneny posted a 59-second clip of him training on Twitter, many Arsenal fans flocked to his video and shared that they are looking forward to seeing him at the Emirates next season.
Given Elneny’s situation, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is let go this summer, or if he stays on and then continues to be a back-up player.
Either way, Arsenal fans want to see him in their colours, regardless of what Mikel Arteta is planning this summer.
It does seem as though the marmite-like figure, Granit Xhaka, could be heading to Roma.
Whilst names such as Wolves’ long-range shooter, Ruben Neves, and Anderlecht’s midfield energy battery, Albert Sambi Lokonga, are seen as potential replacements.
If that’s the case then if you add the form of Joe Willock to the table from his Newcastle spell, it does make Elneny’s life that bit harder to break into Arteta’s first-team plans.
