Can Trossard play in the Europa League for Arsenal? Many have asked on Google as Mikel Arteta closes in on a deal for the Belgian.
After missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea, the Gunners have turned their attention to the 28-year-old who has been told to leave Brighton by Roberto De Zerbi following a fallout.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the Brighton No.11 – talks have seemingly moved very quickly.
So, can Trossard play in the Europa League for Arsenal? Let’s take a look…
Trossard eligibility to play for Arsenal in Europa League
There is often confusion surrounding mid-season transfers when it comes to registrations details.
On some occasions, clubs are forced to leave their new signings out if they are cup tied or cannot be registered.
In this instance, there will be no such problem if Arsenal finalise a deal for Trossard.

The Brighton No.11 would be eligible to play for Arsenal in the Europa League if he seals a move to the Emirates Stadium, with UEFA rules stating that three new players can be registered for the knockout stages of their competitions, as long as the paperwork is submitted by February 2nd.
UEFA’s official website states: “As of the round of 16, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registration must be completed by 2nd February 2023 at the latest. This deadline cannot be extended.
“Any or all of the players from the above quota of three may have been fielded for another club in the qualifying phase, play-offs or group stage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Europa Conference League.”
Should Trossard move to north London, he would bring plenty of Europa League experience with him.
The Waterschei-born forward made 27 Europa League appearances during his time at KRC Genk, scoring 11 goals while also providing four assists.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as it seems negotiations between Arsenal and Brighton are moving quickly.
