Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt has won his second straight Bundesliga Player of the Month award. The German ace is also now a target of Arsenal and Liverpool for a transfer.
The 26-year-old has been a revelation since the turn of the year having established a vital presence under Edin Terzic. Yet Brandt is out of contract at the Westfalenstadion in 2024. So, suitors are starting to flock with an eye on a cut-price deal in line with his superb form.
Brandt has offered Borussia Dortmund four goals and two assists through his eight outings so far in 2023. The midfielder-cum-winger laid on two assists over three fixtures in January and scored once in his four matches in February to help BVB to a perfect start to the year.

Bundesliga names Brandt as its Player of the Month for second straight award
A thigh injury kept Brandt out of Borussia Dortmund’s 2-2 draw with Schalke last Saturday. He tore muscle fibres during their 2-0 defeat at Chelsea to bow out 2-1 on aggregate in the Champions League. The injury will also keep him out of BVB’s game with Koln on Saturday.
But Brandt’s form in January saw the Bundesliga name him as its Player of the Month. The German top-flight has also now acknowledged his brilliant run in February with the league announcing this Thursday that he had swept the gong for a second successive month, too.
The Bundesliga decides its Player of the Month award via a vote by fans and experts, plus its own criteria. Brandt beat out BVB’s Raphael Guerreiro and Nico Schlotterbeck, Mainz’s Jae-Sung Lee, Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa and Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies for February’s.

The Borussia Dortmund star is earning transfer interest from Arsenal and Liverpool
Brandt’s remarkable form so far in 2023 is also earning the Borussia Dortmund ace interest from Arsenal and Liverpool in his potential transfer. But DW reports that BVB are ready to offer the midfielder an ‘astronomical’ pay rise to agree to renew his contract with the club.
Liverpool hope Brandt, who former Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose called ‘excellent’, rejects the contract to pursue his transfer, though. 90min notes the Reds are now scouting the 39-cap German. But Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle United are also watching.
Arsenal have tracked Brandt for a number of years and Christian Falk reports they are now more interested than ever in the Borussia Dortmund star’s transfer. But Bild reports that, like Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur want to secure Brandt’s transfer at all costs over the summer.
