Ferran Torres to Arsenal is a transfer rumour that’s been coming up lately.
According to Bild, as covered by HITC Sport, the former Manchester City attacker is on the Gunners’ radar, having lost Gabriel Jesus to injury.
With Jesus such a massive player for Arsenal, and with Mikel Arteta’s side top of the Premier League, a replacement is vital.
As we saw with Eddie Nketiah in a friendly defeat by Juventus on Saturday, the North Londoners need a higher calibre of upgrade than what the Hale End academy product can offer.
And what an interesting addition Torres could be.

He isn’t a traditional number nine, but former comments by his old boss, Pep Guardiola, indicate that he could blossom in that role.
In May of 2021, the Spanish manager told Sky Sports about his then-player: “Yeah, he can be [a No 9]. We will use him, we used him and he was brilliant. His rhythm, especially defensively he has improved a lot. The game at Palace, he makes a turn [in his season] – so good. The movement he makes as a striker, for the [third] goal, it hits the bar and where it goes, he knew it.”
Interestingly, Torres can also play out wide and with Arsenal needing a winger too, this versatility could highly appeal to Arteta.
When Jesus is fit again, the Gunners manager could easily begin using Torres as another option out wide, too.
This is a fascinating transfer rumour and one that, on the surface, makes a lot of sense.
