Kevin Campbell says it’s ‘brilliant news’ that Bukayo Saka is ‘fine’ ahead of Arsenal’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, as he told the Highbury Squad.

Arsenal beat Oxford United 3-0 in the FA Cup on Monday evening, with Saka seemingly hobbling off when being subbed, but Mikel Arteta made it clear after the game that he is ‘fine’ ahead of their visit to Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite such a big game coming up at the weekend, Arteta still started someone as important as Saka, even though they were coming up against a League One side.

Saying that, it proved to be a difficult hour for the north London club because that’s how long it took them to open the scoring via the head of midfielder, Mohamed Elneny.

By then, Saka was off the field, before Eddie Nketiah netted a brace to kill off the game and book Arsenal’s fourth-round tie with Manchester City.

Nonetheless, with some Arsenal fans worrying at how Saka walked off yesterday, it was merely a scare and former striker Kevin Campbell was delighted with that.

“I hope Saka’s okay too,” said Campbell. “That’s good. That is brilliant news. We have a good few days to wrap him up in cotton wool just to keep him ticking over until the derby.”

ARSENAL’S BEST CHANCE IN A LONG TIME

Last season, Arsenal were well and truly beaten by Tottenham as their hopes of securing Champions League football were dashed before their eyes.

Well, 12 months later, they are in a much stronger position, including the majority of their squad, baring Gabriel Jesus, being injury-free.

Then there are the likes of William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko who weren’t playing last season, added to the levels of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka, to name a few, going through the roof this season.

Added to that, this is the Gunners’ best chance at beating Tottenham in the backyard of their rivals, including securing three points since they moved into their new stadium.
