Adam Forshaw has labelled James Tarkowski’s transfer from Burnley to Everton as ‘brilliant’, as the Leeds midfielder posted on the player’s Instagram post.

After Tarkowski was relegated with Burnley last season, added with his contract expiring at Turf Moor last month, he secured a free-transfer to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton aren’t exactly in a great place from a financial point of view, so the transfer of Tarkowski is very much-needed for a team that recently sold one of their star men in Richarlison to Tottenham.

Nonetheless, when Tarkowski posted on Instagram that he is ready to ‘start the next chapter’ of his career, several players posted their good wishes to the centre-back in the comments section.

Leeds United duo Stuart Dallas and Forshaw wrote: ‘Congratulations mate. All the best’ and ‘Brilliant mate, best of luck’, whilst his former teammate, Phil Bardsley, told him that it’s a ‘great move’ for the player.

TARKOWSKI IS A BRILLIANT SIGNING

Tarkowski is going to help Frank Lampard on so many levels following his move from Burnley, especially from a financial standpoint.

The Toffees aren’t exactly flying high in the that department, so securing the transfer of Tarkowski on a free is a great move for the club.

Everton lacked leadership last season and their new capture will provide that in bucket loads, as well as much-needed experience and depth.

Then there is the fact that they struggled to defend set-pieces last season, and once again, the Englishman will improve his new side on that front.

But with Tarkowski through the doors, who else will join him and will more faces, such as linked-away, Anthony Gordon, head for the exit door? If that happens, then it’s a deal that just won’t sit well with fans.
