Tottenham could loan out Anthony Gordon back to Everton, if they can secure a deal to sign the winger this summer, according to a report.

It has been reported for a while now that Spurs are keen to add Richarlison to their books, but they are now also trying to lure Gordon towards their direction, as reported by 90min.

It is said that Tottenham have ‘held discussions’ to sign the attacking duo from Goodison Park and they are admirers of Gordon, but would prefer a deal to be centred around player swaps.

If that happens, then Tottenham’s plan could be to loan the 21-year-old straight back to his boyhood club, where he enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last time out.

Given the mess Everton were in, Gordon showcased great character, fight and drive, especially when Frank Lampard came in, and helped the Toffees survive relegation to the Championship by the skin of their teeth.

But only months after those nerve-racking nights at Goodison have come to an end, could the Everton fans see their star players head for the exit door in what would be a bitter blow to all?

WHERE ARE EVERTON FINANCIALLY?

That’s the million-dollar question.

In normal circumstances, there’s no way Everton will entertain losing players such as Gordon and Richarlison, but as they proved last summer, they can’t seemingly splash the cash.

After throwing millions and millions at the market under the likes of Ronald Koeman and Marco Silva, it’s all turning on its head now for the Merseyside giants.

Last summer, they only spent just over £1 million and it seems as though they have to balance the books, after wild spending, has resulted in them going backwards rather than forwards.

So, are Spurs being clever here and taking advantage of Everton’s situation?

If so, then bringing in someone like Gordon, who is ready to hit the next level, added with the experienced Richarlison, would be two brilliant signings by the Champions League club.
