Jamie O’Hara has changed his mind about Tottenham signing Richarlison from Everton by adding that he is now a ‘brilliant signing’ for the club, as he told Sky Sports News.

The former midfielder admitted that, at first, he ‘wasn’t sure’ about Richarlison swapping Everton colours for those at Tottenham, but he now thinks he will ‘bolster the squad’.

After scoring 53 goals in 152 matches for the Toffees, the 25-year-old secured a £60 million transfer from financial-hit Everton to Champions League Tottenham.

Richarlison will provide much-needed depth in the forward areas for Antonio Conte, with the Brazil star’s preference being to play out on the left or down the middle.

Whilst that’s not going to happen because Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane are in his way, O’Hara can see him being played out on the right instead.

“I wasn’t sure about it at the start,” said O’Hara. “I was umming and ahhing about it because of his mentality and the way he plays.

“But the more I think about it, I think he is a brilliant signing for us. He can play in all three positions in the front three and take over from Harry Kane, if he gets injured.

“I think it’s a huge signing for us. There are a lot of games to compete in next season and the squad is thin. He is bolstering the squad.

“It’s just about whether he can now step up and get in front of Son, Kane or Kulusevski because them three were different class last season. I think we are going to see Richarlison play a bit on the right maybe because Kulusevski can’t play week in and week out, he needs to be rested at some point.”

WHO ELSE WILL TOTTENHAM SIGN?

Daniel Levy is well and truly backing Antonio Conte in the transfer market, with four new faces being added already before pre-season can start.

Some would say that it’s every un-Tottenham-like and un-Levy-like, but the fact that Conte proved his worth out on the pitch by securing fourth, he is now being rewarded for it in the transfer market.

But who else will join the club this summer? Emerson Royal struggled for most parts of last season and there is talk that Djed Spence is close to securing a transfer to north London.

Perhaps Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet will add to the defensive qualities Tottenham have, with the central-defender set to travel to London for his medical.
