German journalist Christian Falk has disclosed that Bayern Munich were impressed by how Harry Kane performed against Arsenal, despite Tottenham getting beaten 2-0 on Sunday.
On Tuesday, a revelation emerged that while the Bavarian side still remain interested in signing the English striker, they value him at just £44.2 million.
Considering Harry Kane was unusually quiet against Arsenal, it is a surprise to discover that Bayern were delighted with what they saw.
The biggest compliment one can pay to the Tottenham vice-captain is that he is so much more than just a No.9.
Of course, the 29-year-old is one of the most prolific goalscorers in Premier League history.
Besides that, the £200,000-a-week ace is also an incredible playmaker, dropping into deep areas and pinging inch-perfect passes for his teammates, most notably, Son Heung-min in recent years.
While Kane certainly did show flashes of this very trait against Mikel Arteta’s side, he was largely anonymous as the visitors ran the game for large parts.
As a result, it is slightly puzzling to discover that Bayern Munich were impressed by how Harry Kane played against Arsenal.
However, their reasoning has been explained.
Bayern impressed by Harry Kane vs Arsenal

Christian Falk told GiveMeSport that Bayern Munich were all smiles watching Harry Kane in action against Arsenal, due to the nature of his display.
“Bayern Munich are still keeping an eye on him [Harry Kane]. I heard they were impressed with his performance yesterday [against Arsenal].”
“Even if his team is playing badly, he is always the man who can change it. They are impressed with how he plays in the box. How fast he is, his aerial ability.”
“They say he’s a complete player and if there’s a chance to get him, they will try”, he said.
Considering Harry Kane is set to perform significantly better against other sides than he did against Arsenal, Bayern are only going to be further convinced that he may be their ideal Robert Lewandowski successor.
