The 2024/25 Premier League season is now around the corner and Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to really stamp their authority.
Ange Postecoglou has proven during his short time at the club that he isn’t an easy man to please, but if you get on his right side, then you can ride a wave and go to the next level.
Destiny Udogie proved that in what was his debut season in Tottenham colours last time out, with the left-back becoming a firm fan favourite.
The Tottenham star was so good that Gary Neville named him in his Team of the Season, so the Italian has laid down the marker and shown others how it should be done.
No Upcoming Fixtures
With pre-season preparations underway, you just wonder how many fringe players will be given a chance to turn their careers around in north London.
Or will the club, who finished fifth last season and want to make a return to the Champions League, just be ruthless and let those players leave?
One of those includes a certain forgotten man brought in during the now-infamous era of Antonio Conte.
As soon as Djed Spence was signed for £20 million, many sensed at the time that something was wrong and Conte labelling it a ‘club signing’ didn’t help matters, either.
Nonetheless, Spence was on loan at Leeds United last season, before moving to Serie A after his Elland Road spell was cut short – Spence received rave reviews in Italy.
The 23-year-old is yet to play a single minute under Postecoglou, but he was pictured back in training and ready to go.
Spence posted on Instagram of himself returning, with Udogie lauding him in the comments section and calling him a ‘baller’.
Brennan Johnson, who he played with at Nottingham Forest, added by commenting ‘my brother’.
Died Spence returns to Tottenham Hotspur
Does Djed Spence have a Tottenham Hotspur future?
On paper, a player like Spence suits Spurs’ right-back spot, having to push forward, attack and play as a ten.
But his career at Spurs just hasn’t got going and his spell at Leeds didn’t help matters, either.

What’s interesting here is that Tottenham have secured the transfer of Archie Gray from Leeds and he will be familiar with Spence.
Gray filled that right-back role when Spence left after six months and, alongside Pedro Porro, the teenager could now stand in the former Boro man’s way of trying to restart his Tottenham career.
