Trent Alexander-Arnold has been speaking to the Premier League on YouTube, where he had some kind words to say about Kaide Gordon.

What’s the story?

Well, the Liverpool No.66 was asked which young player in Jürgen Klopp’s squad would become the highest rated player on FIFA in five years.

Firstly, Alexander-Arnold said Harvey Elliott, but then mentioned Gordon in regards to a lesser-known player not as involved in the first-team.

The 23-year-old said: “Oh wow. I’d say Harvey, but for someone who’s kind of academy based, I’d say Kaide. Both have got massive, massive bags of potential.”

The 17-year-old, who was signed from Derby in a £1m deal earlier this year, has already made his first-team debut for the Reds.

Gordon played the entirety of the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich back in September, his one and only outing for the first-team.

Klopp was impressed with the teenager’s ability to last the full 95 minutes, highlighting his eye-catching “physicality” as a standout trait.

Should Liverpool loan Kaide Gordon out?

Gordon is a right-sided forward, who enjoys cutting in on his stronger left foot just like Mohamed Salah.

Interestingly, the wonderkid has already been likened to the Egyptian.

Seeing as Klopp doesn’t have much depth behind Salah, you could argue that it’s worth keeping Gordon at Anfield and have him learn directly from the ex-Chelsea man.

However, we think Liverpool need to find Gordon a loan move, like the one which helped Elliott break into the first-team after starring for Blackburn.

The Derby-born prodigy is a huge talent, and it’s important that he plays as much first-team football as possible at this age.

If an interesting opportunity arises in January, it’s something the Reds should seriously consider.
