Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Times revealed that Mohamed Salah will be blocked from representing Egypt at the Olympics.
What’s the story?
Well, some Liverpool fans were annoyed yesterday after hearing that Salah was planning to convince the Reds to let him play at the Olympic Games.
Ahmed Megahed – President of Egypt’s Football Association – said the 29-year-old was keen to play, and was going to speak to Liverpool.
However, shortly after that news broke, The Times claimed that Liverpool are holding firm on their stance, and had refused Salah’s request.
Jürgen Klopp will already be without his prolific No.11 during the 2021/22 season, due to the Africa Cup of Nations.
As a result, Liverpool are hugely reluctant to let him miss the start of the campaign as well.
Will this upset Salah?

Some Liverpool fans below seem to think Liverpool’s decision will cause problems.
There have already been reports about Salah wanting to leave Anfield.
One outlet even claimed that talks had already been held with Paris Saint-Germain.
So, now that Liverpool have refused to grant Salah’s Olympic wishes, some supporters feel there will now be added conflict.
Only time will tell, but you can understand if Salah is upset.

It would be special to play for your country at the Olympics, and you can see why the £34 million man wants to partake.
However, after an unprecedented injury crisis in 2020/21, it seems Liverpool are taking no chances with their £200,000-a-week forward.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the update regarding Salah…
