- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City watched Feyenoord in action at the weekend.
The Premier League trio all sent scouts to watch Arne Slot’s former club in their Eredivisie clash against PEC Zwolle on Sunday afternoon.
Feyenoord bounced back from their opening draw against Willem II and sailed to victory with a 5-1 win.
Santiago Gimenez stole the headlines with two second-half goals. HITC revealed on Monday that Nottingham Forest have made a £21million offer for Gimenez.
The likes of Lutsharel Geertruida, David Hancko and Quinten Timber also featured for Feyenoord in their emphatic victory.
Several stars from the Dutch outfit have attracted interest from the Premier League and scouts were sent to watch them in action as they weigh up late moves in the summer window.

Aston Villa watch ‘amazing’ defender
Aston Villa have enjoyed a strong summer window with eight new signings joining Unai Emery‘s squad.
But the Birmingham-based side are still in the market for another centre-back with Diego Carlos expected to leave.
HITC revealed that Villa are in talks with Feyenoord for Geertruida, who Feyenoord valued at £25million last summer.
The 24-year-old, who was described as “amazing” by Mike Verweij on De Telegraaf’s Kick Off podcast, played the full 90 minutes against PEC Zwolle alongside David Hancko – who is admired by Liverpool.
It is not known who the scouts of Liverpool or Manchester City were watching, but both Premier League giants are still open to transfer opportunities after having quiet starts to the window.
Geertruida would cap a brilliant transfer window
Villa have arguably had one of the best transfer windows of any Premier League side even after losing Douglas Luiz to Juventus.
The £50million signing of Amadou Onana has calmed all concerns about Luiz’s exit and he has hit the ground running with a goal on his debut against West Ham.

The cherry on top for Villa would be signing a young and exciting centre-back to replace Carlos.
Geertruida certainly ticks all the boxes and Emery works brilliantly with versatile players such as the Dutchman. It would be a match made in heaven.
