Aston Villa have now joined Arsenal and Newcastle in the race to sign Sacha Boey from Galatasaray.

What’s the story?

Well – according to Tutto Mercato Web – Arsenal are keen to sign the Frenchman.

Elsewhere, it was Turkish Football who claimed that Newcastle also want Boey.

Now, another Turkish news outlet in Takvim has revealed that Aston Villa are interested in signing the right-back.

Boey has made a name for himself since joining Galatasaray in July 2021, after rejecting a move to Celtic – as he admitted in an interview.

The 22-year-old said: “Celtic wanted to sign me. I had to make a decision. I chose Galatasaray because it was a bigger club. That’s why I chose Galatasaray.”

It seems Boey made the right decision, as Galatasaray have provided him with a platform to develop himself and catch the eye of some huge Premier League sides.

Takvim believe Aston Villa watched the defender in action during his side’s 1-0 win over Kasımpaşa on Saturday, while representatives from Crystal Palace were also present.

Boey has made 21 appearances in the Süper Lig so far this season, providing two assists.

Aston Villa could be preparing to replace Matty Cash with Arsenal & Newcastle target

Unai Emery has already made a major chance in the full-back department since replacing Steven Gerrard, spending £13.3m to sign Alex Moreno as a challenger for Lucas Digne in the starting XI.

Now – amid interest in Boey – it could be argued that the Spaniard is thinking about an upgrade on Matty Cash and Ashley Young on the opposite side of the pitch.

If that is the case, Emery could get himself a bargain in Boey.

Foot Mercato in France believe the Galatasaray No.93 is set to sign a new contract in Turkey, which is believed to include a release clause worth just €14m (£12m).

That is a snip for the Villans, to say the least – keep an eye on this situation, as the race to sign Boey intensifies.
