Crystal Palace are now set to submit a bid to sign Liverpool target Sacha Boey – who turned down an offer from Celtic.
What’s the story?
Well, Patrick Vieira is keen to strengthen his right-back department at Selhurst Park, and is now planning to beat Jürgen Klopp to the 22-year-old’s signature by making an official bid of €16m (£14m).
That is according to Jeunes Footeux in France, who mention that the Frenchman is not convinced by Nathaniel Clyne, while he feels Joel Ward, aged 33, is too old to start every week in the Premier League.
Liverpool’s interest is mentioned by the French news outlet, although after Klopp signed Calvin Ramsey from Aberdeen to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold, the German’s right-back department seems healthy.
In regards to Celtic, Boey actually admitted that he rejected the Scottish giants in favour of joining Galatasaray in July 2021.

The France Under-20 international said: “Celtic wanted to sign me. I had to make a decision. I chose Galatasaray because it was a bigger club. That’s why I chose Galatasaray.”
Boey has impressed over in Turkey, with Real Madrid even taking an interest in his performances by sending scouts to watch him – according to Defensa Central.
So far this season, the Galatasaray No.93 has made 13 appearances in all competitions, providing one assist.
Crystal Palace would make statement after Liverpool & Celtic interest
If Vieira managed to bring Boey to Selhurst Park, after footballing giants such as Liverpool and Celtic showed interest, it would be a real statement from the south Londoners.
Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Crystal Palace – has made a name for himself in the industry by signings gems such as Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze for just £8m and £16m respectively.
The Scot has also signed Marc Guehi, Joachim Andersen and Cheick Doucoure to transform Crystal Palace.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the Eagles seem ready to make an official bid for Boey.
