Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Alvaro Morata will not join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur on January transfer deadline day.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Morata will stay at Juventus for the rest of the season.

The former Chelsea striker is on loan at Italian giants Juventus from defending Spanish champions Atletico Madrid at the moment.

AS have reported that Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on signing the 29-year-old striker.

Morata blow for Arsenal and Tottenham

In our view, Morata staying at Juventus is a blow for Arsenal and Tottenham.

The Times reported last week that both Arsenal and Tottenham were offered the chance to sign the former Chelsea striker on a loan deal.

We think that both Arsenal and Spurs could do with a new striker for the rest of the season.

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte needs a striker to support Harry Kane, while Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be on his way to Barcelona today.

However, based on Romano’s tweet, it seems that Morata is staying put at Juventus.

Morata has scored five goals and provided three assists in 16 Serie A starts and has scored two goals in four Champions League starts for Juventus so far this season.
