The Times have reported that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Alvaro Morata, along with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Morata is on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid at the moment, and Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing the former Chelsea striker in the January transfer window.

The former Real Madrid striker has been offered to Arsenal on a loan deal, according to The Times.

The Times have claimed that Tottenham and Newcastle have also been offered the chance to sign the 29-year-old on loan until the end of the season.

Interestingly, current Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte worked with Morata at Chelsea.

The Italian tactician described the former Madrid player as “a fantastic striker”, as quoted in Fotmob in July 2017.

Arsenal should not accept Alvaro Morata loan offer

In our view, Arsenal should turn down the chance to sign Morata on loan in the January transfer window.

Now, it may be a straight loan with no obligation to buy, and Arsenal could do with a new striker for the short term.

But is the Spain international the right striker for Arenal?

In our opinion, no.

Morata scored 16 goals in 47 Premier League appearances during his time at Chelsea.

The striker could not really make a huge impact at Chelsea.

Morata has made 16 starts and six substitute appearances in Serie A for Juventus so far this season.

The former Madrid striker has scored five goals and provided three assists in those games.
