Rumoured Arsenal target Isco will take a pay cut to secure a summer move to a new club, with Sevilla also reportedly interested in signing the former Real Madrid star.

According to Relevo via GSFN, the La Liga side are keen to sign Isco following his release from the UEFA Champions League winning giants, with the playmaker himself open to taking a pay cut if it means signing for a club like Sevilla this summer, with Arsenal chasing the Spaniard, as well.

As per reports, Newcastle United and Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Isco, however, it appears that Sevilla now the favourites to sign the 30-year-old, who at Madrid had a reported release clause of £593m, as is the way with top La Liga sides and their prized assets.

Whilst interest from Arsenal makes sense given Mikel Arteta’s need for a midfielder, this update seems to indicate that Sevilla are the most likely side to land Isco, who has needed a change of scenery for what feels like years after years of poor performances at Madrid.

Indeed, injuries and a lack of playing time have hampered what once looked like another world-class player of this current Spain generation, yet Isco’s potential was never matched, which is what makes next season at Sevilla that more exciting for the playmaker, who could return to his best.

Although the Premier League would have been an exciting destination for Isco, staying in Spain is seemingly the best decision for the versatile midfielder, especially at Sevilla, where Julen Lopetegui’s style of football would suit the former Madrid star to a tee.

Isco has been something of a footballing outcast over the past few years, a player who fans have seem to have forgotten just how good they once were and how brilliant the can be on their day, and Sevilla could be the side to unleash this potential again if they can sign the playmaker over Arsenal.

And this will likely be the outcome this summer, with the Gunners landing Fabio Vieira from FC Porto, meaning Sevilla seemingly have a free shot at signing Isco, especially with the midfielder willing to take a pay cut to move clubs in the coming weeks.
