Arsenal are said to have agreed a deal to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in January.

That is according to the Mirror, who believe Edu has struck an agreement with the Ukrainian giants – a sum in the region of £40m is set to swap hands.

Now, Mudryk himself has added even more fuel to the fire.

What’s the story?

Well, the 21-year-old seems very keen to join the Gunners.

Mudryk told Vlada Zinchenko – the wife of Oleksandr Zinchenko – that he would like a move to the Emirates Stadium, and would be upset if a January transfer failed to materialise.

Now, the Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 has liked an Instagram post from AFTV which mentions him joining Arsenal, as you can see below.

Now, some may not see much value in this social media activity, although when it comes to younger players such as Mudryk, a lot can be taken from what they get up to online.

Even before he liked the post from AFTV, the Ukraine international pretty much issued a come-and-get-me plea to Mikel Arteta and Edu in his interview with Vlada Zinchenko – he is clearly desperate to join.

Arsenal could win the Premier League with Mudryk

A key feature of Manchester City’s success under Pep Guardiola has been squad depth, and we think Arsenal would have a significantly higher chance of winning the Premier League if they signed Mudryk.

You rarely hear the Citizens complaining about injury absences, as Guardiola has two quality options in almost every position.

If Bernardo Silva or Jack Grealish are missing, Riyad Mahrez or Phil Foden are there – if Rodri is absent, Kalvin Phillips steps in, and so forth.

As things stand, Arsenal do not have that luxury, and would struggle if Gabriel Martinelli or Bukayo Saka suffered an injury, which is why the signing of Mudryk – or another forward – is so important in January.
