Whisper it, but a third Arsenal signing might be on the way.

The Gunners have already signed two players in January, in the form of Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior.

But a third footballer might be joining Arsenal very soon.

Earlier today, ESPN reported that Mikel Arteta was set to loan Cedric Soares to Fulham.

And when that materialises, it could potentially open the door for Ivan Fresneda to be announced.

Soares is a full-back and loaning him out is unlikely unless Arteta and Edu had another person coming through the door.

That’s because three of Arsenal’s four left and right-backs are rather injury prone – Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

And with a Premier League title on the line, the Spanish manager wouldn’t let an experienced and steady player like Soares go unless someone else was coming in.

And with the heavily-linked Fresneda – whose agent has visited London Colney to discuss a transfer, as covered by HITC Sport – being a right-back, it makes a lot of sense for the 18-year-old to be Soares’s replacement at the Emirates Stadium.
