Arsenal are being linked with almost every big-money striker under the sun, but Ray Parlour is urging the club to go for Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
The Gunners know that Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are set to leave the club this summer.
Their contracts expire and Arsenal need to bring in at least two strikers to bolster Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.
Last week, 90Min reported that Arsenal are showing an interest in signing Brentford striker Toney this summer.
Brentford would allegedly demand around £50million for Toney, meaning he wouldn’t exactly come cheap.
This came after The Telegraph reported that Newcastle United were interested in re-signing Toney.
Newcastle sold Toney to Peterborough United for just £650,000 in 2018 so paying millions to get him back… that’s not the greatest look.
Still, this just goes to show how in-demand Toney will be come the end of the season.
It was one thing for Toney to score 31 goals in the Championship but many were waiting to see how he would fare in the Premier League.
12 goals in 29 games is a decent record for Toney, who has caused problems for many Premier League defenders this season.

Ben White was one of them as Toney ran the Arsenal defender ragged on the opening night of the Premier League season.
Brentford players have been comparing Toney to Didier Drogba; oh how Arsenal would love to have that kind of striker in their attack.
There have been strong links to Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus too, but Ray Parlour is urging Arsenal to pick Toney.
Parlour has told talkSPORT that Arsenal shouldn’t be getting into bidding wars. Arsenal ended up losing out to Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic in January, and Parlour seemingly doesn’t want a repeat.
Parlour then urged Arsenal to go for Toney, believing he is the exact kind of striker Arsenal need to be signing this summer.
“The strikers they’ll be looking at, they’ll also be looking at the other clubs interested in those strikers,” said Parlour. “You don’t want to be getting into bidding wars. How many clubs will be after Toney, if he’s available? That’s the sort of striker I would be trying to get at Arsenal,” he added.
