Michael Bridge says Sean Dyche’s Everton could be ‘giving up’ their attempts to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Daniel Farke’s Leeds United this summer.

The Sky reporter and transfer expert shared that Everton have seen ‘multiple approaches’ for the Leeds United speedster ‘rejected’.

It has now forced the Premier League strugglers to ‘turn their attention to other targets’ as the 2023 summer transfer window enters its final month, as he told Sky Sports News’ Transfer Show (01/04/23 at 7:35 pm).

If that is the case, then Leeds fans will be delighted with this update on Wilfried Gnonto, who during a season of real struggle and relegation, caught the eye of many.

The 19-year-old has a lot of quality in his locker and can develop to serious heights – he was even compared to a Manchester City-like winger by Gary Neville.

Either way, this was the update Bridge provided on Gnonto amid Everton’s interest in the player.

“Another Everton line coming into us,” said Bridge. “They could be giving up their attempts to sign Wilfried Gnonto.

“They are facing a decision. They have had multiple approaches rejected by Leeds United and they could now be forced to turn their attention to other targets. That’s a development.

“Of course, we have reported all summer that they have been interested in Gnonto.”

Leeds keeping Gnonto

Albeit, he wouldn’t be a new signing like Ethan Ampadu, it would still lift the spirits of the fans and perhaps be one of the best deals they can do this summer.

Gnonto is worthy of playing Premier League football ahead of this forthcoming campaign.

So, you would imagine that he would tear up England’s second-tier, no problem, if he were to stay on board.
