Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has given his verdict on Ryan Sessegnon.
Postecoglou has noted how Sessegnon is doing in training and has pointed out what is stopping the defender from fulfilling his potential.
So, what has Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou said about Ryan Sessegnon? Let’s take a look.
Ange Postecoglou comments on Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon
Well, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been speaking about Ryan Sessegnon.
Postecoglou has been impressed by how Sessegnon, who was linked with a move to Everton in the summer of 2023, has been doing in training.
The former Celtic manager has also noted what is stopping the £25 million (BBC Sport) player from exploding.
Postecoglou has pointed out that injury issues for Sessegnon, who can play as left-back or left-winger, are the 23-year-old’s biggest problem.

Postecoglou told Football.London about Sessegnon: “He’s back training, that’s the first thing. Now he’s got to put together a body of work together in training and then we’ll assess it from there.
“This is his first week with us. Like I said, with Sess it’s about getting a body of work together – to give him confidence and us confidence that his body will be good.
“So far this week he’s trained well, done everything that’s been asked of him, and I hope that continues.”
The Spurs boss added: “He’s no different from anyone else, I want them all to be out there, want them all to be available. He’s no different. Obviously he’s gone through a tough time. But there’s no point me putting any extra pressure on him.
“He knows his biggest hurdle is being out there for a prolonged time. He has had a false start when we put him out there a few weeks back because we had a few injuries.
“Like I said with Sess, it’s about him getting a body of work together. And then he’ll feel better and confident about taking an opportunity.”
My View: Tottenham fans should have faith in Ryan Sessegnon
In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur fans should not give up on Ryan Sessegnon just yet.
I believe that Spurs need to persevere with the defender and hope that he recovers from his injury problems.
Sessegnon is only 23 now. It is not easy for any player to make a huge impact if he does not get a run of games.
And that has been the former Fulham player’s main problem. He just cannot stay fit for a prolonged period of time.
Sessegnon has made 73 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The youngster has scored four goals and given eight assists in those games.
