Alasdair Gold has shared that Ryan Sessegnon is hoping that his latest hamstring injury for Tottenham is the end of his problems.
The Football London reporter shared that Ryan Sessegnon was ‘trying to put off’ having surgery on his hamstring because he wanted to prove himself to Ange Postecoglou.
But, in the end, he got it done and now the Tottenham left-back is hoping ‘this is it’ and his injury woes will soon be behind him, as Alasdair Gold told his own YouTube channel.
The talent and quality is there in Sessegnon’s legs, his lack of progression has got nothing to do with his skill set, but his inability to stay out of the treatment room.
The 23-year-old joined Spurs in 2019, but during that period, he has only managed 56 games for the club in all competitions.
To put all of that into context, Ivan Perisic has played 49 games for Spurs. He only signed last summer and has played at left-back for large periods.

Ryan Sessegnon’s injury update
“Sess, his is one they are being very careful with because, the good thing about and for Sess is that this surgery he has just had, it’s the hope that this is it,” said Gold.
“There is the hope that this is the operation that fixes his hamstring problems. He didn’t want to have it done. He was trying to put it off because he didn’t want to have surgery. He just wanted to play and prove himself to Postecoglou or get a move in the summer.
“But it had to be done. They are being quite cautious over it. I am told, potentially, he could be back next month. But it could go either way. He could come back sooner than that or they might want to take a bit more time with him.”

Sessegnon and Destiny Udogie
When Sessegnon eventually returns to the training pitch, he will find that his starting spot will be blocked by a thriving youngster.
Sessegnon was that once upon a time, but now Destiny Udogie is the talk of the town and a player impressing quite a lot during the early parts of the new season.
The 20-year-old has been outstanding for Spurs and, even though he signed last summer, he feels like a new signing after going out on loan last season.
