Tom Holland partnered with Lionel Messi to promote the new Spider-Man Brand New Day movie, and looked back on his time working with him.

Messi and Holland’s time on screen together was very brief, but it meant a lot to the Spider-Man actor, who is a massive football fan.

But where does Messi rank among all the great actors Holland has shared a screen with? Well, according to the man himself, he ranks quite highly.

Tom Holland was ‘touched’ to work with Lionel Messi in recent Spider-Man ad

In a recent interview while promoting The Odyssey, Tom Holland was asked where Lionel Messi ranks among his best screen partners.

Unsurprisingly, Holland said that the Inter Miami star is up there, sharing how grateful he was to work with one of the greatest football players of all time.

“Oh, pretty high! Pretty high! I mean, he’s the GOAT. He’s probably the GOAT of GOATs. If you put all the greatest performers together, he’d be at the top of that list.

“What a legend! What a treat! I’m so touched that he was willing to do that for our movie, because he never does things like this. I think his kids are really big Spider-Man fans. What an absolute legend.”

Coming from Spider-Man himself, that is high praise for Lionel Messi, who has embraced his role as a pop-culture figure ever since he moved to the US to play for Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi looking to pull off superhero feat with second World Cup win

Much like Spider-Man facing off against his greatest foes, Lionel Messi is facing a massive challenge in his quest to win a second FIFA World Cup.

The Argentine superstar must help his team vanquish a very strong England side to reach the World Cup final, where he will face either a formidable Spanish side or his previous tormentors, France.

At 39 years old, Messi is putting on performances that Father Time just can’t do anything about. But it will take a vintage performance from him to help Argentina reach their third World Cup final under his captaincy.

While Argentina have not looked strong as a team, Messi’s presence on the field means they can never truly be ruled out.
