The Transportation Security Administration has issued a light-hearted reminder to World Cup visitors about what they can and cannot pack in hand luggage.
The warning is aimed at travellers who may have discovered ranch dressing during their visit to the United States and are now hoping to take bottles of it home.

The agency joked that the world is “slowly discovering” that ranch goes with pizza, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, quesadillas, crackers, chips, and vegetables.
TSA tells World Cup fans to pack ranch dressing in checked bags
Ranch dressing is one of America’s most recognisable condiments.
Made with buttermilk, mayonnaise, herbs, and spices, it was invented in Nebraska and developed further in California during the 1950s.
It has since become America’s favourite salad dressing and is also popular in countries with strong American cultural influence, including Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
But for many international visitors, ranch remains a new discovery.
That appears to have prompted the TSA to issue its reminder before football fans try to take large bottles home in their carry-on bags.
“If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you’re here… pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home. Thank you,” the TSA wrote.
In another post they said: “OK please avoid chugging your ranch outside security the airlines will check it for you.”
Another slide added: “OK soooo your carry-on wasn’t actually made for *checks notes* 4 bottles of ranch and a taser.”
Carry-on rules still apply to sauces and dips
The TSA’s rule is simple.
Liquids and gels taken through airport security in carry-on bags must be in containers of 3.4 ounces, or 100 millilitres, or less.
Those containers must also fit inside one quart-sized, resealable bag.
Any container larger than 3.4 ounces must go in checked luggage, even if the bottle is not full.

That means travellers can still bring home a large bottle of ranch dressing.
They just need to avoid putting it in their hand luggage.
“Who knew dip-lomacy could be achieved through addressing the obvious: ranch is the king of condiments,” the TSA added.
