Real Madrid fans have reacted on Twitter to Martin Odegaard sharing that he won’t be re-joining Arsenal this summer.
The 22-year-old joined Arsenal on loan in January for a six-month period but confirmed on Instagram that he’ll be staying put in Madrid ahead of the forthcoming campaign.
It was suggested that Arsenal wanted to bring back his quick-thinking talents this summer.
But he has seemingly put an end to that, which has delighted the Madrid faithful, and of course, upset those in Arsenal colours.
Carlo Ancelotti is the man in Madrid dugout and he did infamously claim that when Odegaard signed for the Spanish giants as a wonderkid, it was all a ‘PR’ move.
Well, the Madrid fanbase now want Ancelotti, who left Everton this summer, to hand the Norway international a key role in the team next season.
Those at the Bernabeu will want to re-claim their La Liga crown after their neighbours were crowned champions last season.
And it will be interesting to see how Odegaard fairs and whether he can take his talents to the levels many are now expecting him to hit.
If it doesn’t go well for the playmaker then Arsenal might be in with a chance of bringing him back to North London.
But, by then, Arsenal will be hoping that they are in such a situation that they no longer need his talents.
