Tottenham have gained a reputation for being stubborn negotiators in the transfer market.
The North London club can drive a hard bargain under Daniel Levy, who has brought the club success financially but less so on the pitch.
Spurs have already completed deals for Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Min-Hyeok Yang this summer.
The only sale completed by Tottenham so far is Joe Rodon’s £10million move to Leeds United after he spent last season on loan at the Yorkshire club.
Attention at Spurs has now turned to adding more firepower to their squad, with Ange Postecoglou telling football.london that adding to their striker department is “a focus” this summer.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for Dominic Solanke, who has a £65million release clause in his contract for the ‘Big Six’ in the Premier League.
Spurs have also shown an interest in Federico Chiesa, who appears to have no future at Juventus. But they are refusing to pay more than their valuation even after a visit from his agent.
Agent visits Tottenham but leaves empty-handed
Several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, have held talks with Chiesa’s representatives this summer.
Arsenal, Newcastle United Liverpool and Chelsea have also held talks with the 26-year-old, who was branded “unstoppable” by Juventus and Italy teammate Giorgio Chiellini.
According to Italian outlet CorriereDelloSport, Federico Chiesa‘s agent Fali Ramadani visited London for talks with Tottenham.
However, his visit did not spark any bids in Chiesa despite Juventus setting an asking price of around 20million Euros.
The report adds that Juventus are now ready to drop their asking price to as little as 18million Euros (£15million).

Chiesa, who won the European Championships with Italy in 2020 as well as two league titles with Juve, is struggling to attract offers from England.
Juventus reportedly want to attach a significant sell-on fee in any deal for Chiesa this summer.
