Eric Dier has heaped praise on to Pedro Porro, who made his debut for Tottenham Hotspur in their 4-1 defeat against Leicester City.

The 23-year-old’s deal to join Antonio Conte’s men was completed on deadline day after the club’s longstanding interest in the Sporting CP loanee, with Pep Guardiola, Cristian Stellini, Sol Campbell and Jermaine Jenas all being fans of the signing. However, the Spaniard had a day to forget, as he struggled to deal with the threat of the electric Harvey Barnes all evening.

While Pedro Porro was disastrous against Leicester, Eric Dier being extremely impressed with his character in training.

In a Conte side that is characterized by flying right wing-backs, such as Victor Moses and Achraf Hakimi, the former Manchester City talent is expected to make a huge impact at the club, after a poor afternoon at the King Power Stadium.

Now, Eric Dier has said how impressed he has been with Tottenham Hotspur’s latest signing, Pedro Porro, even before he made his first start against Leicester.

“When he [Pedro Porro] first arrived, I think having been here so long I try and take the responsibility and help people adapt. “I think he’s settling really well. He’s someone with a lot of personality I think you see that in how he plays. Obviously, we’re extremely happy to have him here. We got to play against him this year and saw first-hand how good he was, so we’re happy we’re playing with him now and not against him”, he told Sky Sports.

Well, the onus on Pedro Porro is to drastically improve after his forgettable display against Leicester, but it seems like Eric Dier strongly feels Tottenham have a good one on their hands.
