Arsenal are interested in one 43-goal centre-forward and the striker has been hailed for being the ‘missing piece’ for his current side.
In the previous two seasons under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have indeed gone from strength to strength with the Gunners missing out on the league title in back to back seasons to Manchester City.
The North London club have failed at the final hurdle and the Spaniard will be hoping to make the key additions in the right areas to ensure that his side can go all the way this summer.
A new forward is understood to be one of Arsenal’s priorities this season and the club were very interested in RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko but the Slovenian forward chose to remain in Germany and sign a new deal.

One centre-forward that the club have been linked to is Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, who was previously at Coventry City and has shone in Portugal.
The Swedish forward featured 50 times for Lisbon last season and scored an outstanding 43 goals in the process and there is little surprise to see links to the Gunners emerge.
In quotes emerging from A Bola, Adélio Cândido, Rúben Amorim’s assistant, was full of praise for the 24-year-old Swede.
“Rúben is a manager of feelings. When he says he wants a player, he says it’s this one and he doesn’t even see it anymore,” Candido said.
“He was the missing piece in the attack. He’s given us very different things, he’s a different player than usual, physicality and attacking from deep.
“It was a scouting find, we really liked it when we saw it. Our way of attacking has really improved a lot with him.”
Arsenal linked Gyokeres unlikely to move
HITC reported back in March that the 26-year-old centre-forward was of interest to the Gunners and they were stepping up their interest in the former Coventry City .
However, with Amorim staying at Sporting, he previously was one of the managerial names understood to be of interest to Liverpool, a deal looks unlikely.
Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee is understood to be another name of interest to the Gunners as the Dutch striker will be available for just £34 million.
Manchester United are also interested whilst AC Milan are frantically trying to get a deal done for the former Bayern Munich forward.
