The World Cup has been a major success in Seattle, with the sixth and final game of this summer’s tournament now in the books.
Mauricio Pochettino’s USMNT were unable to get the result the entire nation was hoping for on Monday against Belgium.
However, the World Cup has brought something to the city of Seattle that is worth more than a place in the next round of the tournament.

Seattle already has a strong soccer fanbase following the success of the Sounders, who also share Lumen Field with the Seahawks.
It was only a matter of months ago when Mike Macdonald’s team lifted the Super Bowl, yet one 14-year-old Seattleite has claimed he’s never seen the city happier than during this summer’s World Cup.

Seattle has been gripped by World Cup fever
Over the course of the last few weeks, Seattle has hosted six World Cup games – including two USMNT fixtures.
More than one million fans were expected to attend the USMNT parade on Monday in the build-up to the game against Belgium.
Speaking earlier this week, Seattle World Cup Organizing Committee CEO Peter Tomozawa shared a touching story about a 14-year-old Seattleite that has stuck with him.
“So I asked the 14-year-old boy, “How was it [the game]?” Tomozawa told Komo news.
“I expected – you know, he’s a soccer jersey-wearing kid – and I expected him to talk about what he saw on the field. You know what he said to me?
“He said, “I have never seen so many people happy. I’ve never seen Seattle this happy.”
“I was like, “Man, we nailed it.”
Up in the Pacific Northwest, it seems just about everyone has embraced what the World Cup truly represents.
Even the weather has shown out for Seattle as the people of the city have been able to showcase the very best that their home has to offer.
