£128m player lauded Emerson’s Tottenham move, now he could reportedly join him in N17

Philippe Coutinho was clearly delighted at one Tottenham Hotspur transfer during the summer.

Toward the end of the window, Spurs signed right-back Emerson Royal from Barcelona.

And after the move was confirmed, Coutinho sent an Instagram message to his fellow Brazilian and former teammate at Camp Nou.

He said: “Brother may God bless you always, you are a star! You will be missed.”

Going by that, it’s clear that Coutinho and the defender have a good relationship with one another and interestingly, the former is now being linked with a move to Tottenham too.

N17 is calling

According to El Nacional, as covered by HITC Sport, the North Londoners are interested in signing the former Liverpool magician once the transfer window opens up again in January.

Coutinho hasn’t been a success story in Spain following a £128 million move almost four years ago and the Lilywhites are keen on a loan.

Not only is the 29-year-old proven to be brilliant in the Premier League, but Tottenham could really do with somebody of this creativity and dynamism right now.

And the fact that he’s close to Emerson means that the player himself might well be interested in the move.

But time will tell whether this has substance or an early example of silly season starting back up again.
