Sheffield United were founder member of the Premier League in the 1992–93 season and scored the first ever goal of the competition. The Blades’ recent history has been tough, dropping into League One in 2011 for six seasons before Chris Wilder led the club to promotion as champions in 2016–17 and then into the Premier League. They returned to the Championship in 2021.
