Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT (4:25pm, October 8, 2021) that the new Newcastle United owners should make a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa striker made the comments while discussing the players that Newcastle could now target under new ownership.
An investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, have taken over Newcastle from Mike Ashley.
Bent said about Zaha and Newcastle: “He would be one I would definitely try to get.”
Wilfried Zaha to Newcastle United?
PIF have taken over Newcastle only this week, and already the Magpies have been linked with some big-name players, such as Barcelona attacking playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
Zaha has not been linked with a move to Newcastle yet.
Yet.

However, we have to say that the Palace winger would be a very realistic target, perhaps not in January, but certainly next summer.
Newcastle now have wealthy owners who plan to win the Premier League title in the coming years.
Yes, Palace are an established club in the Premier League, but the London outfit are unlikely to challenge for the Champions League places anytime soon.
Zaha is 28 now, and the former Manchester United winger will know that he needs to move to another and more ambitious club if he is to win major honours.
