Cesc Fabregas has given his take on Tottenham Hotspur loanee Gareth Bale on BBC One (7:14pm, June 11, 2021).
The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder has said that Bale is a fantastic player.
The Spaniard has added that he cannot understand why people in Spain are so against him.
Bale spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Tottenham from Real Madrid.
Eurosport reported in May that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is likely to take up the option to keep the 31-year-old winger at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium under the same terms next season as well.
Fabregas said about Bale on BBC One (7:14pm, June 11, 2021): “It’s a strange case with Gareth. You never know why, but for me, he has been so successful. He scored in two Champions League finals, he scored against us in cup final, he got over 100 goals for the club, still people were kind of after him.”
The AS Monaco midfielder added: “He is a fantastic player.”

Back to Tottenham Hotspur?
Bale did not have the best of seasons at Spurs, but there were some very good moments.
The Wales international winger did end up with decent stats.
The 31-year-old made 10 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham.
Bale scored 11 goals and gave two assists in those matches.
The Madrid-owned winger also scored three goals and gave one assist in seven Europa League starts for Spurs.
It remains to be seen what Bale wants to do.
If the winger is open to returning to to Tottenham, then it would make sense for Levy to bring him back.
