Ryan Sessegnon has told Djed Spence on Instagram ‘you know what to do now’ after the Middlesbrough player posted a video compilation of his performances from the 2021/22 season.

The 21-year-old was in the colours of Nottingham Forest last season and he helped them earn promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, but after his loan deal ended, he returned back to his parent club.

Tottenham have been trying to get a deal over the line for the player for several weeks now, with suggestions that a deal is slowly, but surely moving in the right direction.

Spence will be expected to occupy that right-sided wing-back role if he moves to north London, with Sessegnon on the other flank.

When Spence posted the following message and video on Instagram, in the comments section, Sessegnon posted ‘you know what to do now’. – It’s pretty clear what the Spurs man is hinting at.

A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SPENCE JOINS SPURS?

Well, it seems that way and it will be interesting to see what role Spence plays given his inexperience not just in Premier League, but in men’s football.

Emerson Royal is seen as the senior right-sided wing-back, but he struggled for most parts of last season.

Although, it should be pointed out that, towards the back end of the campaign, as Spurs secured Champions League football, he did produce some of his best performances.

Either way, this is Antonio Conte bulking up his squad ahead of the new season because this is going to be a very different test from the one they have previously faced.

Plus, it’s further proof that Daniel Levy is well and truly backing the man in his dugout because this is the club’s best chance of winning silverware.
