Emerson Royal has told his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Lucas Moura ‘you deserve all the best’ after he returned to first-team training, as he posted on Instagram.
The 30-year-old is in the final months of his career at Spurs and he is expected to head for the exit door, it could have happened a lot earlier, but a move to relegation strugglers Everton during the January transfer window didn’t happen.
With Antonio Conte adding Arnaut Danjuma to his squad last month, it now means that Moura is behind Richarlison, the Villarreal loanee and Dejan Kulusevski for those wide spots.
Not forgetting someone like Son Heung-min, who despite his struggles this season, is still a regular starter in north London.
Nonetheless, Moura, who has been out of action since the World Cup break, will provide some much-needed depth and quality to Tottenham’s bench.
He will want to end his career in fine style, possibly winning a trophy?! Either way, this was the message Emerson Royal sent to his fellow countryman when he returned to training.
“You deserve all the best that life has to offer someone!!” said Emerson Royal.
ONE LAST DANCE FOR MOURA
It’s expected that Moura’s contract won’t be renewed and he will leave in the summer, so this is the chance for one last dance from the all-action Brazil star.
He produced one of the great moments for Spurs when he scored a hat-trick, including a last-minute winner, to help Tottenham reach the Champions League final.
That all-important trophy alludes Spurs, but with Conte’s side still in the FA Cup, could Moura leave on a high?
