Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Everton have discussed a move to sign Tottenham attacker Lucas Moura but they feel his wage demands might be a bit too “hefty”. It comes amid reports that Spurs are set to sell him this month.
Moura, 30, turned out for Tottenham’s Under-21 side on Friday night as he continues his comeback from injury. He was used in the second string instead of the FA Cup clash against Preston. Moura scored in a 2-1 win over rivals Arsenal.
The Sun report that Everton, Southampton and Palace are all interested in the Brazil star. But, the Spurs ace wants an enormous £150k-a-week deal. He is expected to leave Spurs in the next six months – but Spurs are ready to sell now.
But now, transfer expert Jones has shared what Everton think of Moura’s wage demands. They see it as potentially too expensive. If Everton can get him on a loan deal, then perhaps they can ask Spurs to contribute to his ‘hefty’ demands.

Everton feel Tottenham attacker Moura demands might be too hefty
Moura is a top player but to want a contract in the region of £150k a week is remarkable. A player that has been very injury prone this season. A player that is now in his thirties and showing signs that he is beginning to regress at Spurs.
But Spurs will want him to go. If they can resurrect a deal for Pedro Porro, or are going to bring in another non-English signing, then that will leave the club with 19 non-English players. Champions League registration only allows for 17.
It means that one or two will miss out. Bryan Gil is due to return to Sevilla on loan until the summer, freeing up a space. Porro’s deal is on ice. But, if Spurs do bring Porro in – or an alternative – then they may have to allow Moura to leave.
