Jamie Carragher told Thierry Henry on Instagram that ‘you can say bad things about Spurs’ after he stated that all he cares about is talking about Arsenal beating their North London rivals on Sunday.
The duo were preparing for Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, where they were due to talk, during Brighton’s home clash with Crystal Palace, about Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Spurs.
Henry was in attendance during the game, he sat alongside Daniel Ek, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang paying homage to the club legend by doing his iconic knee slide when he scored his side’s second goal.
When MNF did go on air, both Carragher and Henry did dissect the Arsenal-Spurs game, with the former striker talking about his own club and the ex-Liverpool defending going in on how Nuno Espirito Santo’s side performed, or didn’t.
But whilst Carragher was talking about having to be the ‘bad cop’ and analyse the negative side of the weekend action, he was urging his fellow pundit to do the same about Spurs.
“Is this just an Arsenal show,” said Carragher after he asked Henry what was going to happen on MNF.
“All we are doing is about Arsenal beating Spurs, that’s all I care about,” responded the Highbury legend.
Carragher added: “So, he’s the good cop and I am the bad cop on that analysis, isn’t it? I have to do about Spurs. You (Henry) are saying nice things about people.
“You can say bad things about Spurs, get involved if you want.”
Well, Carragher didn’t hold back in his criticism of Spurs on Sunday, including blasting Nuno’s tactics, as he told Sky Sports.
The massive gap left by the Tottenham midfielders was a major talking point and how Arsenal just steam-rolled their opponents with three first-half goals.
Whilst Henry didn’t go in on Spurs, like Carragher did, he did, strangely enough, praise Harry Kane.
Henry appreciated how the English striker tracked back, for the third goal, after he lost the ball in Tottenham’s attacking third.
It’s perhaps something that shouldn’t be praised because he was just doing what all players should, and that’s put in the effort.
