Footage of Gary Neville criticising Arsenal‘s recruitment last summer is resurfacing on Twitter.
Speaking on Sky Sports 12 months ago, the popular pundit took aim at Mikel Arteta and Edu’s transfer strategy.
On Saturday, Arsenal hammered Sevilla 6-0 in their final pre-season friendly of the campaign, ahead of Friday’s clash with Crystal Palace.
That came on the back of a rousing 4-0 victory over Chelsea and although these are only friendlies, the Gunners’ recruitment this summer – including Gabriel Jesus, who netted three goals yesterday – is looking very exciting indeed.
Arteta and Edu have spent £120 million across five players this summer and the Spanish manager intimated that he could still add further quality to the squad.
One Arsenal fan on Twitter messaged Neville, mocking him about his comments.

Neville is right in saying that Arsenal capitulated last season and failed to secure Champions League qualification, even when it was in their hands for much of the final part of the campaign.
However, their overall recruitment strategy remains the same now as it was back then and therefore perhaps you could argue he was overly harsh last summer.
